College Placement
Welcome to the College Counseling section of our website!

We are very excited to welcome back Mrs. Katy Yoder, who was our Director of College and Career Advising for the 2003-2004 school year.

Mrs. Yoder has a Master's Degree in Organizational Psychology and Counseling from the Adler School of Professional Psychology along with a background in collegiate athletics as a volleyball player at National Louis University in Evanston, IL.  She is looking forward to working with our students again in the college planning process.  It is highly recommended that students meet with Mrs. Yoder early in the school year, particularly those transferring to the Pendleton School from another country and even students inside the U.S. who are transferring from another High School.

As stated below in the general guidelines, it is critical to know your college requirements at the beginning of the year rather than having to "rush" and catch up later--waiting also hinders the ability to get into your school of choice.  Even as athletes, you need to be making your college list based on academics and overall fit for you as individuals, meeting regularly with both your coach and Mrs. Yoder.

If you are an incoming senior from the U.S. and have not yet taken the SAT or ACT, it is imperative that you go to www.collegeboard.com or www.actstudent.org and determine which of the scheduled dates for August through December that you can attend and then get registered.  Tests can be taken throughout the school year, but it is wise to take it at least once before December in the event that further testing needs to be done.  We need a baseline score of your capabilities so that we can then decide if tutoring and additional prepwork is necessary.

Thank you for choosing the Pendleton School to serve your academic needs.  We are excited to have you as a student and want to make your experience here both fun and fulfilling!
